I know we're not the only ones, but still: WHAT IS WITH SNOW IN APRIL???
Especially considering the area I live in is considered semi-arid desert! We woke up to the 4th sub-zero (below freezing) day in a row this morning. C. was going to buy and plant us a fruit tree this weekend. He decided he didn't much fancy the idea of digging in the freezing cold.
This pregnancy is happening during the same seasons as last round, but I find I still can't get into my spring gear yet, so it's been a lot of jean-wearing at work. One day, the sun will come.
Gus has been talking a lot these days. He's been stringing words together, 2 or 3 at a time, too. This is great most times. What gets tricky is when he's obviously trying to tell us something and we just can't decipher it. Not that most people could understand 'sunglasses' when he says it anyway. :)
We have a busy week ahead: my brother-in-law is getting married on Sunday and both C. and Gus are in the wedding. We'll be leaving town Thursday night for a few days. In the meantime, there's laundry, marking, and making sure that black dress I bought last month still makes me look good!
Oh, and the ultrasound went very well. I happened to arrive early and managed to get into my appointment 15 minutes early, too! Things went pretty smoothly. Babe was moving around a bit so it took sometime to get measurements, but at the end s/he put on a great show: we got to see the mouth open and close and lots of hand and arm movement around the face. We were able to ascertain knuckles, ribs, spine, heartbeat and even cute little bum cheeks! (No, we have no idea the sex, and we didn't ask and I don't think the tech would tell us anyway.)

Happy Monday, all!
Check out Friday 5!
Do you own any type of gym equipment? When was the last time it was used?
No. Except my son – bicep builder.
· What is something you collect?
Used stamps from anywhere. Pretty paper. Good lesson plans.
· Is there a fireplace in your home?
No. Not in my new home-to-be either.
· What is something that you dislike about your home?
Smallish
dining room. 6 people feels like way too
many. And the fact that it soon won't be ours anymore.
· Have you done any type of remodeling before?
Um, don’t think so… unless painting my room in high school counts.
· Which do you prefer, wallpaper or paint?
Paint. I think. Unless it’s cool wallpaper and I didn’t have to put it up.
· How many phones are in your home?
4. I know – it’s absurd, but that’s just how it’s worked!
· Carpeting , tiles, or hardwood floors?
Hardwood up, carpet down.
· When was the last time you washed windows and mirrors?
Last week: had to get the house ready to sell! Prior to that – probably a few months for mirrors and last year for windows.
· Do you have few possessions, or are you a pack rat?
I try to pare down… but when it comes to books and collaging stuff, pack rat extraordinaire.
· Did you ever have a house guest who
overstayed their welcome?
Not that I can think of right now. But I’ll be my husband could come up with an answer more quickly ;)
· Do you own a record player, tape deck, Atari
or some other vintage electronic device?
We have a walkman that we use in the kitchen as our radio. It’s attached to 2 small speakers that sit on top of our cupboards so we can listen to CBC when we’re in the kitchen, which is a lot.
· Show us a before and after.
· Show us something you made.
· Show us your slippers.

- What was your favourite toy as a kid? hmm. May need mom's help here, but I do recall spending time with my LiteBright (or was it LiteBrite?) My Little Pony was also a favourite. I remember losing my first one somewhere in Spokane when we lived there for a summer while my dad took some courses there. I was sad about that.
2. What type of music or band do you love? Currently wishing I had Mamas and Papas back in my collection, well, I suppose it was always Dad's collection... But I also love Sloan, Waterdeep and Simon and Garfunkle.
3. What colour can't you live without? Right now, Reds are for me.
4. What is your favourite scent? Jonas's head after it's been washed with Burt's Bees No-Spill Shampoo. And Philosopher's Brew Tea from Silk Road.
5. Show us something you love.
My son was born minutes before midnight in mid-August. While I had very mild cramps all day, I consider my labour to have begun at 9:30pm when my water broke. The next 2 and 1/2 hours are a bit of a blur to me now, likely having to do with the laughing gas given to me to help with my breathing, but by 11:58, I met my son - JG.
C. was especially taken with the tinyness of JG, especially his feet. We have several pictures like this one. (They gave him 2 ankle bracelets because it isn't uncommon for them to fall off.) He's already almost 3 months old and his weight has doubled, but I am still amazed at how small his feet are, especially his toenails.
